I also prefer the action in the second one. I find the first one too tight in the frame for me.

The first image is not cropped, just got a bit greedy how close I could get.

I went back into PS and extended the canvas on the RH side, a definite improvement.

The squirrel had distinct orange/brown markings. I have not seen many grey squirrels to know if it is unusual.
