          Re: Badger

Only wild badger I've seen has unfortunately been dead.

          Really good capture.

Lovely Trev , hope to get some shots soon of the local sett I have been watching for a while but don't really want to use flash which at the moment I would certainly have to. I am hoping they will start to emerge earlier as the summer progresses so I can get away with it.

Not exactly, up in the woods although they do come down into the garden each night. We don't feed them anymore in the garden, they only have to hear the quad bike or me shout and out they come - No challenge anymore

Steve, the badgers in our other sett which is further up the wood but part of the same social group are emerging around nine o-clock at the moment. They will start to come out earlier as the summer progresses. The Badger in the picture is from another sett where we have fed them, they now come out at any time of the day if they hear me or the quad bike. At one time I had it set up for photography, lights etc used to let people come in and photograph them, but there's no challenge there now they just sit there and wait for food.

                  Re: Badger

I hope they don`t suffer for you suddenly stopping the free handouts , though it`s the best time of year to do it I imagine . Perhaps the challenge is to capture them doing something else rather than waiting for food . Shame to waste such an opportunity you have made Trevor , especially with all the drama with these animals of late . It is , as most of your images are quite stunning .

Thanks Mark. I don't feed them as such, if I'am passing I throw down a handful of pellets, they then come out. This is what I had done just before this picture was taken- if they hear me out they come.
