    Dressed to Impress

Another morning spent at Bushy Park today. This guy although he had all the gear and a good bellow, failed to attract the attention of any girls

Excellent Stan. I'm going to go to Windsor Great Park next week hopefully and see what their Reds are up to.

Great set of images Stan, nicely posed.

"although he had all the gear and a good bellow, failed to attract the attention of any girls": perhaps his personality wasn't up to scratch

            Good capture.

How could they have possibly resisted, unless it's the Donald Trump style syrup putting them off.

Hope you kept well away Stan!

good luck, although i know little about Windsor, if you are looking specifically for the deer, judging by posts on forums and facebook, Bushy and Richmond parks are the places to go

Windsor is the closest to me but I also realise it could be a bit hit & miss so if it's no good then I'll try one of the others.

not too much further to Bushy, under 20 miles and plenty of sightings and shots almost guaranteed, yesterday we made a 5am start from Bournemouth and the 3 or 4 hours spent there was well worth it......got to go back to sleep now

Excellent images Stan. I must try Bushy Park, Richmond Park is becoming to difficult to get to.

                      Thanks Brian

I have never been to Richmond Park but we have now been to Bushy once last year and twice this autumn and can really recommend it.. only slight problem is the gates don't open until 8am in September and November due to the cull and during October, "from" 6.30 am. Yesterday we arrived before 7 and had to wait until 7.25 before we could get in.

                        Re: Dressed to Impress

Hi All, Just to make it clear the Bushy Park cull was All of Sept and first week of Oct. Friday 5th was the last date. When the cull is on the gates will not open till 7:30am. Then the park is open 6:30am until the start of The 2nd cull, which i believe is 5th Nov till the end of the 2nd week of Dec. 7:30 or later opening.

It caught me and many other people out last Wednesday, got there at 6:25am only to be told opens at 7:30am. Not happy.

Fingers crossed for the next few weeks.

PS :- It might be the same at Richmond ( so i've been told )

                        PPS:- Great pictures Stan.

Cheers Glenn. Hope you are well

The problem is that if you look on the website and the gate opening times, it clearly states 6.30am for this past week and it is only when you get to the gate and read the cull poster you find it is different

Hi Stan, That is the discussion i had with the park warden. Park admin thought the cull had finnished 1 week early and adjusted the web site opening time.. They didn't talk to the wardens it seems.. Left and right hand not talking to each other !

I hope to go again soon, although a cold spell and frost would really improve things.

Bushy is incredibly popular and more and more photographers are going. But i do wish some of them would show some situational awareness, i had many shots spoilt but photographers walking into my shot. But then that is park life

yes it would have helped if the admin and wardens were in tune as there is not a lot of room to park outside the gates without spilling on to the main road which could cause problems

Both this and last week there were not a lot of photographers around so we did not have your problem but there were a few who were getting much too close to the stags despite advice given both on posters and on the web site
