    Adder

Basking in the garden this morning, first sighting this year and two week earlier than 2019 and a month earlier than 2018.
Had Mrs B been at home I would have asked her very nicely if she could have removed that blade of dead grass from across its body, bit to close to the wrong end for me to do it

You're braver than me Trev, not my favourite type creature.

Well seen Trev, I wouldn’t have got that close to it, nice to see it in its natural environment

Nice female Trev, not been looking in my usual spot yet as there's still snow on the ground

My wife would run miles if she saw that snake.

Thanks everyone for all your recent comments. This shot was taken early morning when they are warming themselves up. They are quite easy to approach then, but I would not touch!

When photographing them last year I noticed they are very sensitive to the infra red beam that my Sigma lens uses for the auto focus, don't know if they can see it or feel it, but they didn't hang about.

Thanks Tiger, never had a problem. I always try to go out early for them when they are more docile and warming themselves up
