    Fox Cub ?????

Looked out the window lunch time and this one was sitting by the pheasant feeder. A complete mystery where it's come from, no adult present. It scurried off up towards the thicket, although to my knowledge there is no Earth up there, our only earth which I believe got cubs is in the Laurel Thicket some quarter of a mile away (hopeless to photograph) it's to young to have come all the way from that one. We have had more foxes (adults vixen's) than normal about the place over the past two months. A little look around in the morning I think is on the cards to try and establish where it came from.

How good is that, I can't find one for love nor money, I am surrounded by Pheasant rearing, I think the Gamekeepers shoot all the Foxes! I would be interested in hearing a follow up Trev, what you find

I am in the same boat as Paul, I have seen one since I have been up here and the very next day heard shooting in that direction and not seen it since. So it is good to see a youngster Trev, enjoy it and keep us informed of its progress.

Thanks everyone for looking and your comments.
This Cub remains a mystery, where it came from I have not got a clue, it's not been seen again - more than likely dead at that age!
I searched all known 'Fox Earth' sites from previous years on my land - Nothing. Where I knew there was a Earth within a Laurel thicket having seen the vixen frequently in the area. I managed to get to within a few yards (it reminded me of jungle training in Belize) of it and eventually called the cubs out, Three emerged all very young, far younger than than the one I posted in the garden. For obvious reasons I did not hang about, it would not have been good to have been caught by the vixen. - So, it remains a mystery.
