    Another Brownsea Red Squirrel

This is from the same session as the previous shots. Another of the photographers put some nuts on a log to entice the squirrels onto the ground and it was not long before one came down - the same female i think from the No Entry thread

    Thanks for looking Dan
A square crop would be an alternative but the edge of the log would then be lost and would look a bit unbalenced

Very nice. Do like how you can see the detail in the fur - catch light in the eye - and the background is oof.

        Thanks Di

This is about the best place to catch them, right out in the open, although food is needed to get them out of the trees. I shall take some nuts myself next time i go

f4 with a 70-200 f2.8 and 1.4x due to the light or lack of it. Had the light been better I would have stopped down a bit and the background would still be diffused as its a reasonable distance behind the squirrel

Is that a reference to some of us on the forum meeting you there, or do you mean food?

Another nice shot! Interesting to see the front leg being held up (like you other shot by the sign!). She may have hurt it!

              All the best, Mike.

I am wondering the same myself Mike. I thought i had other shots of her clearly showing all 4 legs but on closer inspection I haven't. Whatever it didn't seem to slow her down at all
