A day at the British Wildlife Centre

Spent Wednesday (5th Oct) at the British Wildlife Centre and was fortunate enough to have access to the enclosures. Took hundreds of shots but do not worry I will only post a handful

Here is the first...one of the foxes....

      Hi David
I'm wondering how they stopped the harvest mouse running away
I like the pose on both shots but the colours dont look right to me - the fox white fur under the neck looks very blue and i think the image overall is oversharpened and the mouse has a definite magenta tinge
      What do you think

Hmm now that you mention it I can see the blue tinge in the white will have to look at removing the blue caste. Think I know how the oversharpening happened. Will also look at caste removal for the Harvest Mouse.
The little mouse will not run away as they put him on the flower stem in The Dell and apparently they nest up in the heads of flowers and if they can jump from one to another they will. We all thought the same but the handler was very calm about the whole thing. The Pine Martins in the runs above were very interested though.

just showing Dee your pics of the harvest mouse and looking again at the last one - it really is an excellent shot but we both thought a tighter crop and clone out the oof seed head would make it even better so hope you dont mind, here is the idea - it seems to have lost a bit of sharpness in upload but the main purpose is to show the crop

Lovely shots David, better than anything I've got!

Love the Harvest Mouse shots, they look so natural.

                    Thanks for posting, Mike.
