Nice shot Ian but I do find the OOF image on the right a bit disconcerting. Can it be cloned out?

This would have been a wonderful picture if only the background was filled with trees, grass anything but brick. I would be extremely tempted to put something in place.

Treff - Yes, I agree with you about the background and if I was a whizz with Photoshop I would. Unfortunately, I am going to have to live with it.

            Deva32,

A great shot with a lovely touch of tenderness. I hope you don't mind I changed the background for you (if you do let me know and I'll delete it) it is just a quick edit to show how it could be.

Colin - That is so much better and, no, I don't mind you doing it. I envy your expertise with Photoshop.

              Thanks

Have to agree it is a great moment captured well and the natural background is the perfect finishing touch. Well done to both!

As said a rubbish background but a great moment to capture and the edit is spot on

Thanks for your kind comments everyone. Had the animals been facing in another direction I could have had a decent background, but this was a fleeting moment, rescued by Colin.

I agree. The improved photo is very nice. I wish I could also be a master of the photoshop magic!!! Quite a long way for me to master these arts- still learning the ropes with digital photography.

Thanks guys for the nice comments about the editing. It just takes a fair bit of practice but CS5 takes a lot of the hard work out particularly when it comes to compositing like this. The Matt Kloskowski book on compositing is excellent and well worth the money imho.
