Lovely birds - the chest colouring does it for me and you've captured that nicely!

        Hi Stan

Donald's right, he really stands out! Nice capture... I take it it was the 300 + 1.4 again? I must try out my 1.4 on the 70-300 L, as there are a few shots on here with that combo!

A trip to Warnham is definitely on the cards!

        All the best, Mike.

yes, alwayds for the small birds

Assume you have the kenko 1.4 as with the canon you will lose autofocus. Brian (oldcanon) and one or two others use the kenko to good effect

The canon 1.4 TC is incompatible with the 70-300LIS (because of the lens construction, the rear element is too far back for the TC to fit)

The Goldfinch is up to your usual high standards Stan
My camera is helping to look at the world more closely, then record what I see to share with others.

Yes, Kenko 1.4 Pro 300 DGX. Just tried it and full AF, still quite quick as well, but obviously only F5.6. I must remember to take it with me next time out and about... I forgot it Sunday when I went to Barnes WWT, and it would have come in useful - especially for the Snipe that was just too far away for a decent attempt!

              Cheers, Mike
