    Very fine image.
    How did you manage to get so close,I struggle to capture sparrows this close never mind these beautiful birds, you must be well pleased thanks for sharing

      That is indeed a close image using the 70-200mm.

        cracking image,i take it you were in a hide and have cropped quite a bit.
        I would be chuffed with this image

            Hi Paul, the window within the hide is is only feet away from the 3 perches the warden has planted in the lake which enures cropping is at a minimum. Took me 6 days (early mornings) to capture the image.

            Been trying for the last 2 months to capture again but no sign, however I have been told the pair are still about.

                    Something that has just clicked - that little female kingfisher is around 20 - 30% larger than life size.

                    They really are quite small when you see them.
