      What a cracking shot of a male kingfisher! Love the out of focus background and the tack sharp bird - plus plenty of space for the bird to look into. They are small birds so you must have been really close to get that shot with the 300mm lens. Well done!

                  Superb.

                  I know how close you have to be with a 500mm, so that shot with a 300mm you can't be more than 3 - 4 Mts away.

                      Lovely! I've never had any luck with Kingfishers at all, but this shows what can be done.

                        Lovely image of a stunningly beautiful - but very hard to capture - bird, and nicely framed to boot... but the head appears a little soft to me; looks like the focal point is on the tips of his wings ????? That said, I'd be as happy as Larry if I'd got that.
                        Cheers;

                          I shot a cute pic of a robin but after seeing the quality of this, I'm gobsmacked. :O

                              Wow, I've been trying on and off for a year to get a kingfisher and would have been proud of something half as good - well done indeed!
