    dodgy parrot shot

    Whilst at Brands Hatch yesterday we saw quite a few of these little fella's flying around - REALLY bad shot as it was right at the top of the tree and back lit so had to use a lot of fill light in PS to get any detail from the silhouette at all - mega tight crop . . .





    Are these the ones that were introduced a little while ago and are now at an almost 'pest' level?

        Yup, that's a ring-necked parakeet. One of their strongholds is Esher in Surrey which is just down the road from me, so we see them every day. They actually love our peanut feeder - we've nearly always got 2 or 3 hanging from it.
        They can be quite a sight (and sound - they are very loud) as whole flocks head off to their roost at dusk.
