Excellent sequence and good detail - and so it should be with in excess of 10 grands worth of equipment

Sequence seems to have loaded back to front.

Blashford Lakes heh? That sequence was probably from Ivy Hide South?

that was lucky, the birds are usually too far away from that hide

Nice set, I find it fascinating that the birds tail hits the water before its feet.

Super shots. You must do gym weight training to hold all that gear

                    What were your settings?

These are the type of photos i would like to get right.
Really like the one before the Cormorant hits the water.
Looks like i'll have to keep playing the lottery.

                        Hi All
Many thanks for the comments and apologies for not replying sooner - work has got in the way.

I was also fascinated by the way the tail is used in landing.

Dave asked me about the settings - can you come back to me with exactly what you want to know.

The 1DX +600mm+1.4x is OK to handhold - I understand the CoG of the lens is much closer to the camera than the CoG on the MK1. I have borrowed a 600MK1 and found it much heavier and required more push upwards from my front hand. Yes going to the gym helps.

I have a set of the same bird taking off and will post later.

                        Thanks again

                        John
