    Arundel WWT - Monday 1/04/13

    Hi

    Ventured out in the cold on Bank Holiday Monday to get some fresh air - didn't realise how much wind chill there was!

    Anyway, I went to Arundel WWT. I'm still getting to grips with the 7D, and I decided to purposely set ISO to 640 for the whole day, just as an exercise. All shot with my 70-300 L.

    I was impressed by the birds' colours - full display colours at the moment, so here's a selection...
    A Wood Duck, I believe (but may be corrected!)

    Not sure how I managed to get down to 1/30!, but at f5.6, 300mm, I think it came out alright! Flash for fill!

    Then I spent a while trying to get white feathers in bright sunlight exposed correctly!

          Mike, a nice set, but 1 and 4 are real corkers!

              You did well Mike - likwe the duckling - south must be more advanced as we saw no young ones at all at Slimbridge

                The mother and duckling and the duckling on its own are the ones for me.

                      Love them all but the snoozing swan is my favourite.

                        I was kicking myself afterwards, as with the swan I should have dropped the iso right down, but as an experiment in keeping iso 640, I was fairly pleased with the results from the day.

                          Nice set Mike. 4 is great and a nice capture of the gull in flight at the end.

                            Really not sure about the Gull shot! He seems exposed correctly, but the sky is so blown, it's almost surreal!
