These are the best of a kingfisher that I've managed to get so far.
I'm humbled by the superb clarity of the KF pics of others posting here and those images inspire me to keep trying.
I got the speed wrong on this one even though I was already mounted on a tripod - I just turned around and there he was, so I had to re-arrange the tripod as quickly as possible and point and shoot. He was gone as soon as he saw me shooting. I've been back several times since in a camouflaged tent hoping that he and his mate would come close again but they always keep their distance.
