    Leucistic Red Kite

In previous visits we have seen 2 or 3 of these at Gigrin but this time just the one and he was around just for a short time

    Re: Leucistic Red Kite

Nice shots as always Stan, I have seen pic's of these on here before, and wondered, are they treated as normal by the other Reds or are they seen as different and shunned or even attacked?

    Regards Paul

Excellent detail in photo1, what a difference some good light makes when photographing these magnificent Birds.

I don't think they are attacked but feeding there certainly seems to be a pecking order as the leucistic are never the first to join in the feed

          Quote from Gigrin Farm website:
Leucistic red kites rarely survive very long under natural conditions but having found the red kite feeding station it had a much better chance.

          Another great image Stan

Beautiful colour. With a bit of luck they'll survive.
