Stopped to take some pictures on the way home from work today

All taken with the 400d and Tamron 55-200mm

I love the colours that Pheasant have in their feathers

The middle shot works best Paul, the first shot has the bird too big in the frame and the one behind with head down is distracting. Nice colours with the pheasant but and I'm often stumped by this, you have cut off his tail

The pheasant was taken out the window of my car at the side of the road and had to rush it before he took off

The pheasant was taken out the window of my car at the side of the road and had to rush it before he took off

I know the senario very well Paul lol I have pheasants walking about where I live on a daily basis, however as soon as they see you they either fly off or run away like road runner. Being in a car tends to render them a bit tame.
