Mr & Mrs Siskin and friends

I was at my parents house yesterday. Always a hive of birdy activity. So, always up for a challenge, I sat in a baking greenhouse for an hour and poked my lens through the door! This was as much a test in handheld and full manual mode as it was in anything else. I'm fairly pleased with the results. I know there are feeders, but they were the only way I could get close enough. Even at that there is some heavy cropping. Next time I'll put in some prep work to get them away from the feeders and closer to the lens!

    Nice set Garry,

I like the yellowhammer shot, with the Seed in its Beak, really good timely catch. Nice catchlight in the eye of the Goldfinch too.

    Regards Paul

          Thanks all for your comments

Paul, I was really happy achieving the catchlight in all the shots, but particularly the Goldfinch.

Andy, it is a pretty bird, and very shy, as I found out!

          Tom, thanks for visiting

Thanks for looking Stan. It is a great garden for wildlife. They have 4 yellowhammers regularly, and 6 Goldfinches. Also woodpeckers. Thanks again, Garry

Lovely shots of some very pretty birds - worth your baking in the greenhouse
