    Dipper

    This year I have been trying to get shots of the many Dippers on our stretch of the River Don.
    Because the river runs through steep wooded banks, light (or lack of) is the main problem.
    Here is todays effort.

    600D, EF100-400L, ISO 1600, 1/640 @ f5.6

    Excellent, saw one on our local stream earlier in the year but no sign since.

    Quite a few on other rivers in the area though.

          An excellent dipper shot Mike - pose, detail, background - I have never seen one, havent got the right sort of rivers here

              not if i have to come to Scotland - much too cold for me

              Actually yesterday was the first time i have seen a sandpiper

                Nice shot Mike and as you say they are quite difficult to get a decent shot of due to the light along the rivers

                  Superb shot.

                  Sharp as a button, good pose, spot on exposure and good composition with nothing distracting in the fame. Don't get them in this part of the world so I do envy you.
