Kestrel@Titchfield Haven - a bonus

Hi All

As I said in a previous thread - see Male tern passing fish to female - I had a fantastic day yesterday at Titchfield Haven around the harbour and shore - I didnt go onto the reserve.

As I was just putting my kit into the car a kestrel appeared and hovered for long enough for me to take some shots.

Cracking shot. You call that one a bonus. For me it would be a highlight shot of the year... Great detail, against a wonderfully graded sky.

Thanks Alex - I called it a bonus because I took some shots of tern behaviour I had never seen before and they stood out for me - if you haven't see it - see the thread male tern passing fish to female tern. i have some even better shpts of this I will post later.

That's the great thing with wildlife, the unexpected bonuses and you were quick enough to bag the shot, pin sharp and in a great pose.

Thanks Colin - I agree with your comments re opportunities - must meet up soon - Titchfield?
I am going to Hurst Castle early on 1 June to hopefully get some shorts of a friends yacht in the round the Island race.
Love your tern shot in your camera club competition - was it a single shot or a composite?
