    Guillemot and Razorbill @ Skomer

    Hi All

In addition to the puffins there are razorbills and guillemots in abundance on Skomer. Images taken on the steps down to the jetty where the razorbills and guillemots hang out!

    1DX + 300mmf2.8 MKII used.

    Regards John

A great couple of images there John, especially no.2. They're both very sharp and the colours are wonderful.

Thanks Stan - I used my rule of thumb from the film days re exposure in bright sun - took a stop less to allow for the reflected light from the sea as it was just below and also the light rocks around the birds. Afterwards I then remembered I had my Sekonic incident lightmeter in my backpack - checked what it suggested and I was pretty close. Regards John

Hi Paul - thanks for the kind comments - the light was so good it was hard not to get good shots as I could use a very fast shutter plus the 300mm is a sharp lens. Regards John
