George, thanks for looking. Re the weight issue, I find that my combo is the best for me. I can hand hold the lens and camera comfortably. Anything heavier will make things difficult for me. Mike, thanks for taking a look. The Heron taking a dip is actually a spot of luck. MX5, thanks for taking a look.

Nat, I usually go to Conwy reserve in the autumn and spring for the migrants. Summer is not the best time with many birds moulting and very quiet.
My local reserve is at Burton Marsh, but the same applies to that one.

Thanks Tom and Les. That is praise indeed. I did review previous C&C and went prepared not to make the same mistakes- sometimes I forget certain settings- but this time it all seems to have come "good"!.
