Yet another I found from a visit to Grigin Farm in May I quite like this view comments welcomed

I like the pose but the amount of noise at ISO 400 is really surprising. I notice you shot at 150mm so is this a big crop which might account for it

I dont know how to get to that sort of info .

if you click on the flickr link below the picture this will take to to the image on the flickr site and then just click on "additional info" below the picture.

Looking at the shot on flickr i must say it looks even noisier than on here

Agree with Stan, it is very noisy, but I like the eye contact. Gigrin Farm is not easy so you did well to just get one bird in the shot.

Hi Stan yes it was a large crop I had forgotten to unlock the lens(IDIOT) so was on 150mm for several shots until I realised my mistake

This looks way oversharpened and, as others have said, noisy. I've taken thousands of shots of Red Kites and I sympathise. The feeding station near me, at Llanddeusant, is closer than Gigrin and 150mm would have given you some better piccies there.

Keep on taking your shots, you'll find better pics.
