    Barn Owl II

Same barn owl but more usual poses, the first on the straw bales and the second against a dark background of the inside of a pig shelter

Both good Stan, gorgeous whites on each, I think I just prefer the first.

Very very nice Stan the black background really sets off the plumage colours.

Thanks for looking Les and Peter
With the first I included the full length as the straw covers the straps but on the second they would have been in full view so I composed to exclude them

Like them both Stan but I think because it is is looking directly at the camera, the first just shades it for me.

                    Re: Barn Owl II

Barn Owls are my favourite Owl and the overcast light is perfect to control the whites and give detail to the feathers. You have captured them very well Stan, but for me, the dark background in the second shot is more natural to their habits and that is my favourite.

Sounded like a very good day out.

They are both great shots but the 2nd one is excellent, especially the detail in the wing which is going to make my next comment sound absurd, but I might just take a bit off the bottom to make it more of a head and shoulders shot.

its an idea but as you say and i think, the main detail is in the wing feathers which really i would not want to lose. Perhaps a small crop off the bottom to put the wing tip in the corner though
