    Cracking detail in the Heron Lee, could be improved by cloning out some of the reeds..

      Good detail in the bird Lee

      could be improved by cloning out some of the reeds..
      at this time of year the reeds are quite high in front of the Barnes hides so with birds flying low it is hard to avoid them and i think as long as they dont encroach on the bird leave em - there are really too many to clone effectively anyway

        Great wing position and composition. I nearly went there on Tuesday but ended up at Richmond Park. Which hide did you take this from?

            Thanks guys; I did clone out a couple of the seed heads that were encroaching too far, but decided that to do the lot was going overboard; it is after all - (essentially) how it was!

                Hi Brian;

                This was shot from the Water Scrape Hide. I was actually after in-flight Dragonflies (which I'll put up later) when I noticed one of the herons get up out of the corner of my eye, so I wasn't really prepared for it, but it worked OK I think...

                As for your choice of Richmond v. Barnes; well it all depends on what you were after, but I'll post a link up shortly, that was my highlight of the YEAR at Barnes on Tuesday morning

                Cheers;
