    Whisper in my ear

There is not a lot of wild wildlife in Lanzarote, although we do have a few as yet unprocessed shots, so we went to the zoo where there is a walk through aviary and spotted these two parakeets - they were actually grooming each other

    Beautiful plumage gov

Never seen one in black/red colouring before. Very cool.

FYI I clicked through to flickr but was denied on this shot.

      Very colourful birds Stan
I can see some marks at the bottom RHS of the background though Stan but...you're excused as you are on holiday

Scott - the set is private for the moment pending getting some ID on some of the birds - there were few plaques and what there was, was in Spanish, so probably going to be a difficult job

Peter - I am not bothering to process too many here - I just have a small quite slow laptop and no pen tablet

The one nearest to you Stan, is a Rainbow Loirikeet, and they are very common along the Eastern Seaboard of Australia.

My daughter had one as a pet when she lived in Oz, and he was a great talker.

Don't know what the black and red one is, but they do make a lovely pair.

              Nicely captured

Great composition and stunning background. You were fortunate to get them this way round as I don't think it would have worked so well with the black & red one in front. Sounds like you're on holiday Stan. Well timed as the weather has gone downhill here!

                Regards,

Dave - thanks for the ID - I was close - but I am thinking they are both similar species otherwise they would not have been grooming each other

Brian - it is rather hot down here at around the low 30's but we did have some rain this afternoon

Stan try Google Translate for those identification plaques, I guessed you weren't as able to do your usual high standard of PP Stan. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. I will look forward to seeing the rest of your images when you get back.

Peter - never thought of that but in fact there were few ID plaques and very few had a picture either which would have been ok with just the one species in the aviary but not a lot of good with a variety
