    Berthelots Pipit

This is a small bird only found on Maderia and the Canary Islands and very approachable, both these shots are almost full frame

Very nice Stan. Good composition and head angle with another excellent background. Especially like the second one, though I may have cloned the twig from the left hand side of the frame.

Super shots Stan, lovely light and sharpness, did it stand on one leg for a long time? Is it a common trait?

I knew someone would say that

did it stand on one leg for a long time? Is it a common trait?
they dont stay still, so no he's not on one leg just running - I had to shoot in AI servo to ensure sharpness

Here is another shot, from a bit further away this time and on a rock rather than the ground

                  Delightful shots.
You could use either of the first two in a text-book to illustrate what is meant by depth of field - and you've got the bird right in the middle of that dof.
                  Cheers, Chris.
