      Thank you very much, Stan

They're one of my more favourite birds here. I'm trying to get one with a red face too, but its eluding me

Excellent colours and detail. However, I feel that the first one is just a bit too big in the frame and in the second you had moved the camera to the right to lose some of the body and have a bit more room for the bird to look into.

Stunning photo. Love the composition, the colors, and the sharpness of the bird. Well done Andy.

I think you make some good compositional observations - I'e had a go at implementing them and think you may be right:

                    Re: Blue Faced Honeyeater

A big improvement, although I might be tempted to crop even more off the left on the second image, turning it into an almost square format and making it a head shot as this is where the main point of interest is. I hope you don't mind me suggesting it.

                    Regards,

                    Brian

I don't mind at all, Brian - its what I'm here for. I tried the more square crop as you suggested though and felt it was unbalanced, but I've taken your suggestion on board and cropped it more tighltly around the face and I agree that it also works.

A much more powerful image, I like it.
