Common British birds- Sparrow & dove

Went to the Conwy RSPB the other day in the hope of seeing some pink footed geese but was totally disappointed. So I took my chance to try out the Canon 70-200mm +1.4 TC; TV 1600;ISO 1600;AWB;Auto AV

(i) Sparrow- with carrot




(ii) Dove!

the first sparrow looks quite sharp and a good pose but the second he is looking away

The first dove has a blue colour cast and the noise in the background is showing quite a bit

thanks Stan. The quick edit is very good. My problem with the dove was that it was in the shade with the sun shining from behind it. I took a few shots with low ISO- @400 but the image was quite dark. So I increased the IS0 so that the bird could be seen.

I bet your pleased with that 1.4 extender Nat .. right ?..

Thanks Tom, Wayne for taking a look. I have always used the 1.4 extender even with my 300mm f4 (now sadly sold but regretting every minute), and it is very good. I have considered the Canon 70-300mm L lens which is much lighter than the 300mm but it will not accept the Canon 1.4 TC. So I would have had to consider a third party TC like Kenko, which I was not prepared to do,for reasons of quality- not in the Canon league!!!!! Anyway, one never knows what is around the corner!
