Another outing to North Cave Wetlands

Well I had booked today off to go out with the camera as the wife was at work and the girls were at nursery. I also arranged to borrow the 100-400L lens off my mate again with the intention of getting some good BIF shots, however the weather tried its best to put the dampers on my day out but i was determined to spoil it by being very overcast and raining this morning.

Unfortunately I was always going to struggle with the light I had so here are the best of the bunch.

Everytime I borrow this lens the weather is rubbish.

If there wasn't any hides at the wetlands I probably would have called it off

The kestrel shot was by chance really as I was in the hide and saw some swans come in and land on one of the other ponds so went to the car to get spare battery and memory card ready for a walk round to where the swans were, when out of the corner of my eye I saw a flash of the light brown. Upon turning to see what it was I was delighted to see the beautiful kestrel hovering over the hedgerow about 100 yards away from where I was stood.

A great set despite the conditions Paul, the first one clinches it for me though, I like it's simplicity and it's likeness to the archetypal three-ducks on the wall

Very nice shots Paul. I personally like #1- the formation flying of the swans.
