I guess as long as you are happy with the trade off, that's what counts. A 1Dx and 200-400 is a great combo, according to most that know, so I hope you remain happy. Certainly less stuff to carry around!
Interestingly, we've met twice at the HCT... The first time I was a complete learner, and you let me play with your 300mm for a while on my 550D. This summer you let me play with the 500mm for a while on my 7D. I'm sure you can see where this is leading!...
