    Curlews

    This is my first capture of some Curlews as it's the closest I have got to them.
    Still had to crop

    Taken with Canon 7D and 70-300mm f4-5.6 is usm lens



    1/2000 sec @ ƒ/5.6 ISO 800 300 mm

      At least you have a shot of them now - its a start. They do look a bit soft but when you have more than a single bird in the frame it is luck more than anything else if they all turn out sharp

        The call of the curlew is one of the most haunting sounds. Nice image of a bird I've not been able to photograph.

            hmmmm just had a look at the pic on flickr and your right its a hell of a lot sharper ,are you selecting 1024 as your size when downloading for here .

            also when uploading to flickr i nearly always set my default upload size as 1024 on the longest edge to stop them altering the image to fit there criteria

              just grabbed your shot from there myself size set to 1024x 644 looks a tad sharper to me??

                Nice shot Alan, I've only ever seen them on their own, your lucky to have caught 4 in flight. Your shot does look sharper on Flickr too.
