    The Flaming Sunbird (Aethopyga flagrans) is a species of bird in the Nectariniidae family. It is endemic to the Philippines.

    Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

    Male: Very colourful feathers.

    Female: Less colourful feathers.

      You certainly have some lovely lovely birds where you are but the light has not done you any favours on this shot, leaving the bird in shadow and very bright highlights. The composition, whilst the bird is on the thirds, he is quite small in the frame which is dominated by the blossom which draws the eye away from the subject

        Paulo, I have to agree with Stan - its a great shot let down by the light.

        I'd suggest two things if you're not already doing it - use spot metering on the focal point (being the bird) to prevent the camera making a more evaluative assessment of the entire shot and the use of flash in order to bring out the colours of birds in shadow, preferably using HSS.
