    That is a nice shot with a nice reflection. I think I would be tempted to remove some of the plants that are coming out of the water to just tidy it up a bit, but that is just my opinion

      Along with Paul, I might also be tempted to brighten it up a bit.

        The exposure of the bird looks fine although the shadow is a bit dark - might be able to lift that a bit with shadow/highlight tool

          Thanks Paul Tom and Stan, I am going to put this image and others into the Midphot 2014 competition and as I understand it there should only be limited adjustments to images

            We enter a lot of competitions and exhibitions and i think most use the same rules and definitions of what you can or cant do with nature photos which are mainly designed to stop you from altering the scene by adding or removing items, so brightening a shadow I dont think would be a problem

              Just had a look at the rules
              Any manipulation or modification is limited to minor retouching and must not alter the truth of the original image
              So brightening the shadow would be ok but not removing the plants
