Awesome :) Love those birds. How do you feel about ringed/tagged birds in pictures?

      Re: Goldfinch

Ringed birds shouldn't be an issue in my eyes.

Goldfinches are great to look at and their call is just so nice. If fact it was quite common to keep them as cage birds at one time.

        Thanks guys

I have no problems generally with tagged birds although the wing tags on a lot of the red kites particularly at Gigrin can be a bit of a problem so i do try and avoid them

Me too. There's a Buzzard in my street that has two wing tags. I just avoid taking pics of it. Ring tags don't bother me, but wing tags do. No idea how the bird copes with it.

                    Nice one, Stan.

You'll be pleased to know that tagging of Red Kites is being phased out and may well have finished in many areas.

Wing tags, like jesses on captive birds of prey are not best of things for good bird photography.

tagging of the red kites makes a lot of sense where they were being re introduced to monitor success etc so now they are much more established then perhaps that is why its being phased out

The high ISO you used isn't apparent at all - well worth it to get the extra shutter speed.
