    Tufted Duck (female)

I don't think I can use this camera without sunshine ever again. I just keep looking at the files and falling apart lol. Anyhow, a wee Female Tufted Duck I missed out from the set from the other day.

Good news about the Kingfishers too. Our wee guy has paired up with a female and started burrowing for a nest this week. Schedule 1 license applications have gone in so fingers crossed.

Well done Paul, the females are much easier to expose for than the males. The composition is a boit too central - always allow more spece in front than behind for the subject to move/look in to

Another superb image Paul, love the water and reflections, a little more space to move into and it will be even better.

            fixed.jpg

I blended two photos of the water together, expanded the canvas to the left 120% and colour balanced the two water shots. Hope it looks better now. I think where I'm going wrong with the duck shots is trying to keep the eye on the top cross of the rule of thirds.

You can just see the blend Paul but not too much of a problem, what you now have is a soft image - look at the eye in particular and compare it with the original. A bit more usm should sort it

Aye it was a direct forum upload Stan. Didn't want to upload multiples to Flickr. I see what you mean about the blend. I think my eyes are boggled by Jack Daniels tonight lol The far left portion is warmer than the right. (Rookie) :)
