    Startled Grebe

    It was getting near to courtship time and if a male Great Crested Grebe came into the territory of another, he got chased away pretty sharply.

    Wing tip blur, sense of movement, water patten following the bird, nice light, low angle... not bad eh?

      Good action shot Colin, like the empty space for him to 'run' into.

      Looks quite a cropped shot, knowing the quality of glass you use.

        This wasn't actually the shot I intended to post. The previous shot had two splashes of water behind the grebe.

        Your are correct that it is a crop and the whites were also close to burning out, as they were reflecting so much light. I must get around to posting the proper shot.
