Today, my first Goldfinch this year

Ye.s I know its on a feeder but its the first one I have seen on our garden this year. I shall be making an extra special effort with birds this year.

Taken through the conservatory glass, did not want to risk going outside with the first one, 7D with Sigma 300 f2.8 + Canon 1.4x.

    1/1000 sec @F4, ISO300 and rather a lot of work in PS4:

Ron, nicely done. Hope you get a chance to take one from the garden side of the glass.

How do you get on with the Sigma 300?

Thanks both. It was on the garden with its mate this morning.

When I get it right the Sigma outperforms the Canon 100-400 I previously used, but I miss the IS! Might have been better off getting the Canon 300 F4 IS.
