just slightly different light i think and they are different birds. Dee got hers first as we were about to walk to the car - typical, she always gets the shot of the day when we go out together - we then bumped into Brian following which i decided to have another shot at the flight before we went home - so about 10 minutes between them

Just out of interest Stan can I ask what settings you have on the AF for BIF.
i.e. Number of focus points, case and if you've alerted things like tracking sensitivity, acceleration, AF point auto switching

having only shot the occasional bird in flight with the new camera so far, I havent really altered or experimented with anything, so it is just set to case 1 and single centre point focus

                      Nice shots Stan.
Somehow I find it difficult to accept these birds being in an English environment always tending to think of them as an exotic species.

Very nice Dee and Stan. Compositionally very strong. The AF on the 7D2 looks awesome.

Bill, apparently some escaped from an aviary in Surrey and began breeding. You can find them all over Surrey, especially at Barnes WWT, Bushey and Richmond Park.

Nice shots and well exposed. For BIFs I am still experimenting with AF Servo settings on the 7DII but the advice offered in Roger Clark's review seems to be working well so far (originally posted in Digital Cameras):
