Great Crested Grebe on nest

As well as seeing the ospreys at Rutland we were lucky enough to see great crested grebes nesting right in front of the same hide. Interesting to watch as the male and female took terns to sit on the eggs. These two are the male

Great shots Stan.

As an aside, I spent today fishing on a local lake. There was a female with 4 juveniles and my God can they make a racket. All day long chirping away wanting food. Poor mum was rushed off her webbed feet.

Nice story to go with the Pic's, I always like that, first pic shows the eggs well and the tender touch, second pic shows the Adult better, right down to the water droplets on surface of the feathers.

The water drops are because he had not long swum in to relieve the misses.

Just for completeness, here is the female - no water drops as she had been on the nest for some time
