Re: Bittern
They are amazing, this could appear and disappear in the tiniest bit of cover, even when you are looking straight at it, nature sure is clever. Thing I didn't know is they have the tip of the bill underwater when hunting, unlike the Grey Heron who keeps his above the water, learnt a lot today about our Herons.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way

Re: Bittern
Burnie, once you get your Kenko 1.4x attached to your 100-400mm lens you will be OK. I have never seen a Bittern to date and you have seen one and also photographed it. Well done.Last edited by Nathaniel; 27-01-2016, 19:43.Canon 6D; Canon 760D;Canon G15;Canon 40mm f2.8(Pancake);Canon 50mm f1.8(ii); Canon 17mm-40mm f4L;Canon EF-S 10-18mm f4.5-5.6 IS STM;Canon EF-S 55-250mm f4-5.6 STM lens;Canon 24mm-105mmf4L IS;Canon 70-300mm f4-f5.6 L IS USM;Kenko 1.4x HD TC;Canon 430EX ii flash;Giottos tripod;Manfretto monopod;Cokin P filters + bits and pieces!

Re: Bittern
That was down to the bird rather than anything I did, I was talking to the guy who first spotted it, he couldn't quite believe it. Someone said well done on finding it, he replied he didn't it just appeared, in front of virtually unused hide, had plenty of use recently though.Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
