    Portrait of a swan

Taken with a 50D. The 15 MP do make a difference!

Good portrait Richard, love the water droplets all over him. Very minor but i think the eye could be a little brighter

        Great swan portrait.

There will be times when you will be in the field without a camera. And, you will see the most glorious sunset or the most beautiful scene that you have ever witnessed. Don't be bitter because you can't record it. Sit down, drink it in, and enjoy it for what it is!

Hi Richard; very nice... great detail with the water-droplets...

Has your 350 been consigned to history, or did you borrow a 50D?

          Cheers...

Hi C-F, No my 350 is in the wardrobe having a holiday! I will still use it - probably! The 50D is my nice new camera!

Stan, I've lightened the eye a tad via a dodge tool in photoshop. I think it makes a difference. The eye isn't so dark and some of the reflection in the eye is a bit more visible. The photo above will be an edited version, rather than posting it again. Esp as this is a very subtle difference!!

Pleased the water droplets came out well!

The added detail in the eye has made a lot of difference it has improved an already great shot.

yes, thats brought out some more detail. I can never get on with the dodge tool so what I do in this situation is make a selection of the eye, feather by 2 px, then open a levels layer and move the right hand slider to suit
