No.2 better than 1 for me with the eye being sharper but both very similar.
It's a pity the background water is so similar to coot's coat, think you need to do more to make this shot Zing......maybe change your POV?

Thanks guys, it was shot off the top of a wier so unfortunately not a lot of opportunity to get down low, I liked the water effect, which is the reason I shot it, but looking now I can understand what you mean.
