              Now that the avocets have more or less gone, other than the odd red or greenshank, these are the only birds on the lagoon that seem to come close enough for any shots, which is why I spend so much time shooting the red squirrels

              The sandwich and common terns are now nesting so hoping for the shots with sand eels next time

                  the terns are quite difficult to shoot now as the nesting islands in front of the hide are wire fenced to a height of around a metre and a half due to sika deer trampling the nests in previous seasons which means by the time they are I an interesting pose coming in to land, mostly they are between the mesh
