According to my Collins bird guide it's a pied wagtail nat ,yet again shooting birds in j.peg under high contrast combined with large ish crop tends to blur the details ,pity really as the first shot looks really nice ,as it has a beak full of insects

Thanks Jeff for the ID. As I mentioned earlier I have these shots in RAW as well. I have hospital appointments from 2nd June. I will contact you perhaps next week and sort these RAW images out. As it is not possible to post RAw images, I have kept the memory card, which I will bring with me. However, the images will be small.

Whilst Pied is more common and this looks to be juv/moult I wouldn't discount it being a white wagtail. Head looks quite grey, usually darker on pied even in juv.

Thanks Steve, Jeff and Ant. I too thought that this wagtail was a bit unusual- not the usual ones I have seen. Anyway since I now take all my wildlife shots in RAW/JPG, I have the RAW images intact. Jeff, don't worry about dates as I am actually going into hospital on the 2nd June and should be out, hopefully either Monday or Tuesday week. Will keep the memory card intact and use another one.
