Thanks Fallow,Tom and Jeff. I did note that the bird had mauve tinges around the neck area, like a Dunnock but I am no expert. ants right ,this is better for i.d its a summer plumage female reed bunting ,might also be a juvenile ,the only thing thats throwing me out is the books show reed buntings with black legs ???Comment

Thanks Jeff and Steve. Thats the problem I have, as a novice bird ID person,the books do not give the colours "right" at times. I will now look up my bird books and get a bit more info.
