    Nice pose John but its not a juvenile its a female coming towards the end of her moult

      Lucky you , really not a big fan of it , but think I would clone out that pink bit hanging between the legs , also looks like the poor thing has a touch of that Bumble foot disease . Hope you can get some more photos John , don`t get to see many Bullfinches .

        Excellent shot John. Very sharp. The pink bit mentioned appears to be a part of the bird feeder behind. This is one of the birds that have been aptly named,in that the face does look like a "bull"!

        P.S. Very difficult and not easy to photograph.

          Steve - thanks for putting me right on that - having thought about it I should have known it was not juvenile as it has the adult black head - Doh!

          Fallow & Nathaniel - thanks for looking and commenting - I really do not know what the pink bit is - it is not bird feeder - I suppose it could be the beginning of one of the wing feathers since the bird is moulting.

          I know bullfinches can be quite destructive when it comes to apple buds, but (so far) we have not suffered to any degree.
