    Female Giant Kingfisher



    Taken at Mala Mala in the Sabi Sands, South Africa. Both the male and female are very similar, the only difference is that the brown feathers are on the chest of the male. It's a bit of a crop as I was short on focal length and couldn't get any closer.

    EOS 1DX, 300mm f2.8 L IS lens, 1.4 III converter, hand held.

                      Ahhhh. Another member of the I've shot a Kingfisher club, excellent image, that's a heck of a beak he has on him.

                      That's what I like about this forum, you get to see the cousins of UK birds and their variances, in this case I will stick with the U.K. Variant in the pretty stakes.
