          That is amazing...considering how small these birds are (and the focal length used) you must have been close and thus panning must be difficult! Cracking shot.

            Thats quite a nice large shot. Well done. From your Exif I note that you have taken it at 300mm + 1.4tc +1.6 =672mm, which is very good as that is the maximum I can shoot at with my crop camera and lens combo.

              Excellent , not managed one in flight yet

              If you increased the exposure by 1/3 stop and lifted the shadows a little then the colours would really pop

                Thanks Brian, it was not too bad as he saw him flying across from the other side of the pool so had some time to find him in the frame and then hit the focus and lock on when I thought he was close enough , wish he had come closer still to enable me to capture more detail but beggars cant be choosers .

                      Great capture. Was happy to photograph one on a perch this year. Have a new target now!
