    Puffin heading for the burrow

I have been tidying up some of my folders of images and chanced upon this from our first visit to the Farnes. I thought it worth sharing.

Well worth the effort to share, it has plenty of detail and as others have said the sand eels add to the image. Well captured John[emoji106]

Farne Islands are great for bird photography. Often its hard to decide which bird to focus on.

Nice image with good detail and exposure.

Definitely worth sharing. An excellent image. Looking forward to going back to the Farnes next year. Just hope the other visitors behave a bit better than they did the last time I was there.

                          What was the problem?

No respect for the birds or photographers. There was one photographer who was so determined to get a shot of an arctic tern on Inner Farne when he laid down on the boardwalk he almost crushed a chick. A group of school children along with their teacher were severely reprimanded by one of the wardens for running around like idiots. Yes, the teacher as well!

That doesn't sound good - the trouble is that if you want people to see and (hopefully) appreciate the wildlife, you have to put up with "the people" and they will vary in quality - a difficult equation to balance!
